Welcome to BCS Level 1 Award in IT User Skills (ICDL Essentials) at Wirral Met. This course, accredited by BCS, The Chartered Insitute for IT, will develop a wide range of introductory computer and technical skills, to prepare you for a career in IT. Students will gain a high standard of computer literacy, and understanding of computer programs.
Course Details
This course is an excellent introduction to the world of technology, developing your skills within computers, email and the internet, with an emphasis on safety. It is designed for those with little to no IT experience. The following modules are taught on this course:
- IT Security for Users
- IT User Fundamentals
- Using Email and the Internet
Entry Guidelines
As this is an introductory course, no prior experience with IT or formal qualifications are required.
Assessment Method
This course is assessed throughout with assessments, practical and theoretical exercises.
Additional Information
The ICDL qualification is internationally recognised by employers and as a benchmark for digital and IT skills.
Where can I progress to?
Upon completion of study, you will be awarded the Official BCS ICDL certification. This is recognised by employers as a benchmark of digital skills.
